Remembering Love by Nadine Christian Book Promo!!!

Name: Remembering Love
Author: Nadine Christian
Genre: Romance

When all is lost, how do you remember love?

When her beloved foster parents pass away, Holly discovers a past both shocking and heartbreaking: the murder/suicide of her biological parents on the South Pacific island of Pitcairn, famous for the HMAV Bounty mutineers. Travelling to a home she does not remember, Holly reconnects with long-lost childhood friend Jack. An old friendship quickly becomes more…until a dark secret is uncovered.

Will joyous love remembered become heartbreak? Can she find out the truth before someone else is hurt?

Nadine Christian lives on Pitcairn Island, a small isle in the middle of the South Pacific, with her husband, five children, four goats, two cats and thirty chickens. With its rich maritime history, Pitcairn’s romantic past comes alive in her novels, capturing the taste of life on an isolated tropical island, miles from the rush and bustle of normal city life.

Excerpt
After checking James was still sleeping in front of his TV show,
Jack offered to walk Holly home. Walking through the quiet roads
home Holly shivered in the warm evening breeze. The scent of
Queen of the Night blossoms filled the air, a perfume that carried
a memory floating below the surface, tugging impatiently to be
remembered.
“Cold?” Jack asked. He slid an arm around her and brought
her close into his body as they walked, rubbing his hand up and
down her arm.
She hadn’t been, but now she was decisively warm, cheeks
flushing with heat. His innocent touch had caused a jolt to her
heart that had been quite unexpected. She was glad the night was
dark, and the torches light the only illumination. She shook her
head and squeaked out a non-committal reply, not trusting herself
to get a whole sentence out without embarrassing herself.
When my debut book was first released and I did that cover “tah dah” moment, I was proud of what my cover artist had designed.  I wasn’t prepared for what the reaction would be. I mean, I’d hoped that it would be well received, but the reaction was great. People loved it. Simple. Clean. Uncluttered. To those that had already read the novel pre-release they were surprised at how much the cover reflected the story.
It got me thinking. How important is the cover really?  I mean, aren’t we always taught not to judge a book by it’s cover?  Unfortunately, good advice isn’t always taken. There are some really crappy covers out there hiding fantastic stories that will never be read because of a poor design or less than eye catching cover. Alternatively a crappy story could be hidden behind a beautiful cover. It’s the same for people I suppose, not just judging novels!
Cover’s are important. It’s what first draws the reader to pick that book up off the shelf and turn it over to read the blurb at the back. Unless your name is Stephen King or Nora Roberts, you need some draw to get you noticed. So now – thanks to that eye candy –  you’re noticed — so you better have a damn good story lurking behind that gorgeous facade!
So, thank goodness for the talent behind my covers, and thank you to the editors who fine tune my work. Hopefully not only will I impress you with the outside, but the dream I’ve hidden within!

  1. What are your ambitions for your writing career?
I’m currently writing and creating with two genres – Romance and Young Adult. They’re both at opposite ends of the spectrum, but with some similarities. I’d like to grow my craft, stretch my boundaries that I’m currently in. Ambitions?  To get as many readers loving my characters as possible!
  1. What have you written? (*Include books, novellas, short stories, poems, blogs, awards, or anything of interest*)
I am currently a finalist in the Readers Favorite book awards for Remembering Love in the Romance/Suspense category. I’m so immensely proud to have even reached this stage, apparently the competition was fierce!  I have the first of a series coming out August 1st called Quintal’s Return, and I’m hoping readers will love these characters as much as they did the ones in Remembering Love.
  1. What are you working on right now?
A Young Adult novel based on Pitcairn. Can’t say much but it’s built around our pristine waters, and beautiful landscapes. Young love, loss and trying to find the answers to what happened to the island in the past. It’s really exciting to write!
  1. When did you decide to become an author?
I actually began writing in 2011. I love to read, and tested the waters myself to see if I could create something as exciting as some of my favorite authors. One book down, I tested it with good friends… luckily they were honest, and told me to join a writers group – which I did. Between the sage advice and great support there, I found a new voice…and it’s grown from there!
  1. Why do you write?
I have five kids…. Sometimes I think I write just to stay sane! *grin*
  1. Do you have a special time you write or how is your day structured?
I write the most in the quiet time when the kids are at school and the youngest is having her afternoon nap.
  1. How long on average does it take you to write a book?
It can average from a couple of months… to a month and a half. I write as it comes – the revising and editing takes the longest, and that could be another month of revision and correction.
  1. How are you published (*i.e. indie, traditional, or both) and why?
I’m with an independent publisher – Eternal Press. I’ve found them to be supportive, the cover artist fantastic, and it’s more of a family. I’m hoping my YA, that’s with my agent at the moment will be picked up by a more mainstream publisher, but in the meantime I’m very happy where I am!
  1. What would you say are the main advantages/disadvantages about being self-published/traditional publishing?
The promotion side is the hardest for me. I live in the middle of nowhere, and rely on the internet to promote as much as I can. Luckily, everyone I seem to bump into online – Facebook, Twitter etc. have been very supportive.
  1. Do you have a strategy for finding book reviewers?
Ask… ask and ask some more!  Facebook has some great review pages if you have a look.
  1. How can readers discover more about you?
Twitter: @pitcairngirl
  1. To end: Give us three Good to Know things about you. Be creative.
I live on an island in the middle of nowhere with five kids and a husband who drive me to write…
I make my own bread, can weave baskets and drive a quad bike as my main vehicle.
I’m the only one in my family who cannot curl their tongue and it drives me crazy.
